A typeface entirely rendered from the inner workings of an old family video recorder. Dismantled and rearranged on a flat surface to build a coherent sequence of legible letterforms.

The inspiration for this arrangement was extracted from the content on the “656” tape cassette. As part of a series of experimental type and vector imagery, I created quotes and typefaces based on the topics and subjects discussed.


Created in the same fashion, this typeface is another content driven photographic study. Created entirely from hairdressing tools this font sits outside a rigid grid system. Different characters appear at different scales based on the items and pieces used. Arrangements of scissors, rollers, clips, gloves and various attachments make up the full 26 character set.
